We recognize our collective responsibility as partners with the broader energy efficiency ecosystem to support the delivery of global progress to double the rate of energy efficiency improvement annually by 2030. We commit as a collective of government, company and organizational partners of Mission Efficiency to support global progress on energy efficiency. propose joint projects, work together and invest in energy efficiency with other committed Mission Efficiency partners. As company and organizational partners, we urge national and sub-national governments to commit to energy efficiency by having an active energy efficiency action plan, by including high ambition for energy efficiency in the Nationally Determined Contributions and/or having UN Energy Compact with energy efficiency commitments.

Further we request governments to develop and implement as many actions as possible from the Mission Efficiency Energy Efficiency Playbook of Key Actions.

We commit to support governments and other partners to achieve their goals by:

Supporting the development of plans, investments and policies that strengthen system efficiencysuch as:

  • Implementing a systematic approach to vehicle taxation to promote the growth of electricvehicles (EVs) and enhance charging
  • Targets for reaching a certain threshold of sector integration and repurposing waste
  • Mandatory energy planning to enable assessment of waste energy potential and make thebest use of locally available resources, guided by an “energy efficiency first” principle.
  • Allocating public funding to innovation and research on efficient system integration ofrenewable energy technology.
  • Developing and implementing policy or market mechanisms to require energy audits in energyusing
  • Supporting the development and implementation of energy efficiency codes, standards and labelsacross sectors in buildings, industries, and transport such as:
    • Mandatorybuilding energy
    • Minimum energy performance standards for energy using products, such as motors andpumps, that can increase industrial efficiency levels.

We commit to further progress on energy efficiency by:

  • Bringingenergy efficiency products to makers and investing in systemic energy efficiency
  • Reducing our scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions to zero by 20230, applying the ‘energy efficiency first’
  • Increasingknowledge and encouraging action on energy efficiency
  • Settinghigh ambition energy efficient targets for our organization, g. by having joined the Climate

Group’s EP100, EV100, and RE100 initiatives.

  • Investingtime by joining and participating in other energy efficiency
